I think anyone who looks past the abv% and ranks this anywhere lower than 4% has not consumed this alongside other brews. I'd compare it to passing over the pure girl in favor of the local tramp. There are very few beers that can compete against Calsberg Danish Pilsner, one of the most pure and flavorful Pilsners still available. If you feel otherwise, go back to your video games. Skal!

Pours a darker golden color with a small head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is German malt and hops with a crisp citrus smell. Taste is crisp citrus with a touch of bitterness. Very good Pilsner.

While I'm sure this is just a re-branded marketing of the Carlsberg Euro lager I've already reviewed, I'm going to add a new review anyway.
.5 liter can into a short, stout mug. Best by 08-02-26.
L -- Clear, deep gold with a sudsy, thick, firm white head that settles to a creamy cap and holds up well.
S -- Light doughiness and light DMS. Some vague hints of that typical Euro Lager maltiness that sets it apart from most German light lagers.
T -- Mild breadiness up front followed by a somewhat tart, sour back flavor. Some light spicy hop bitterness in the finish, but the sour note reappears in the aftertaste. Some mild spicy hops also apparent in the aftertaste.
F -- The body is light bordering on medium with a soft, smooth mouthfeel.
O -- While this beer isn't offensive in any way, it just doesn't hit my palate as clean and lucious as so many German lagers -- and definitely bears little resemblance to any Pilsners I know. Maybe that tart, sour character is common and accepted in Danish beers, and it's really not awful, just a little distracting from my expectations.

This is my go to beer when I don't know what else to drink.
Is it perfect? No.
But it's "probably the best beer in the world." ;-)

16.9 oz. can poured into a nonic
(June 2026 best-by date printed on bottom of can)
L: pale yellow, SRM 2, huge thick head of white foam that sticks a lot; keeps a thick collar and most of a skin of white foam and laces on the way down; 100% clear, more or less
S: peach, apricot, sweet enough to be candied, dried or jam/jelly made from peach or apricot; bready in a sweet way, like baked bread drizzled with honey; there's a light hint of something greenish from the hops ... it's leaning in the direction of green onion or cilantro but could also be black pepper
T: sweet and fruity up front with a drying earthy bitterness in the finish; classic pilsner flavors with nothing either standing out or feeling off
F: lightweight just a touch on the thin and watery side after a huge pour; I'll pour a little more softly in the future to allow the beer to keep some of its carbonation ... it has enough to push up a big pretty head of foam but once it does, the carbonation level is almost spent
O: a solid pils all around that could use a bit more flavor or character from the hops — I imagine a good dose of Saaz would turn this beer into magic; still, as it is, I'm enjoying it and happy to have five more tall boys to work through

From a 473ml can with a best before date of 09/07/26. Poured into a pint glass. A two finger bubbly white head that soon diminished to a thin layer. Lots of patchy lacing.
A mixture of hop and corn in the nose. The taste follows with sweet malts and a mild noble hop finish.
A light body and moderate carbonation. Overall a passable German Pilsner.

From a can that was included in our cruise stateroom while Athens. The can bottom indicates a best by date of 6/30/26.
The beer pours a Pale gold color with decent hear retention and light lacing. Thos really doesn't look too bad. On the nose I'm getting sweet malt, bread dough and pepper. Again, this really doesn't smell bad at all. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, with the sweet malt taking center stage. There's a pretty precipitous flavor drop-off on the watery finish, with a hint of bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a moderately long, watery finish. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile.
Really surprised by this beer. I thought it would be on a par with some of the lame macro AALs we have in the states, but it's actually not half bad. While I won't be out buying a case any time soon, I wouldn't turn this down if someone offered it to me.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Samuel Smith pint glass.
L - Crystal clear and golden with a frothy head of white foam.
S - Fresh cut hay, malts and a small bit of citrus.
T - Slightly malty with a hint of earthiness. Nothing exciting or overwhelming, but well done and tasty.
F - Light, refreshing , crisp and very clean. Easy drinking.
O - Classic for a reason. I don't ofter have Calsberg, but when I do I enjoy it,

Clear pale golden brew with plenty of foam in the spiky tumbler. Smells of wet cardboard and old clothes. Starts out sweet and cornbread-tasting with bitterness seeping in. Then something from the medicine cabinet in the nose. What are these icky flavors? Unpleasant green vegetables like old kale. Then it all ends in an astringent bucket of dishwater. This is actually one of the worst European Lagers I can remember. What's worse than tastelessness? Bad taste. From the 500 ml can purchased on the West Coast. Product of France (Kronenbourg).

From a 500ml can into a beer glass.
Gold pour with a decent head initially, with some moderate patchy lacing.
The malt and hops flavors are mild, and relatively low. Faint citrus flavors. I suspect a fair amount of adjuncts like rice and corn were used in the recipe. An easy drinker if nothing else.

One of cleanest, inoffensive, mass-produced, moderately priced, pilsners. I have been on a Pilsner kick(lately), and after drinking Warsteiner/Bitburger/Yuengling Pilsner/etc. - this standard-bearer - is just that. Poured a 16.9oz can into a .5liter Pilsner glass. Beautiful golden color, and doesn’t have that “metallic” quality, that many impart. At 5%abv we get the GOOD version. I can’t imagine the 3.8% having any similarity; why? I digress, there is a malty overtone, with a slight hop kiss. Slightly sweet, but not annoyingly sweet. CRISP. crushable. Comes off as a flavorful, light beer. Never disappoints. Cheers!
