Jacobsen Barbaras Easy IPA 3.5% is created in collaboration with Schulstad and named after Barbara – great-granddaughter of Carl Jacobsen and Viggo Schulstad and the last resident of Carl’s villa at Carlsberg. A hazy and welcoming IPA, brewed with barley malt and wheat, dry hopped with Citra and Amarillo and rounded off with grapefruit, which adds a fresh and balanced citrus expression. An obvious companion to both classic and innovative open sandwiches – from crispy fish fillet to rye bread with hummus.

Copenhagen 18/3 2026. 75 cl bottle from Rema 1000, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. Red version of Carlsberg's Jacobsen brand design.
Pours opaque unclear yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a 2,5 cm thick layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a light sweet odor of ripe stone fruition overpowered by tart citrus fruit. Sweet peach and apricot. Grapefruit in abundance, lemon and citrus. Fresh.
Strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively, fizzy and tingling texture.
Flavor is moderately intense with a light sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste s bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is sour and dry.
Refreshing a tart. And a little thin.
