Copenhagen 7/11 2015. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly. Dark blue version of Carlsberg's Carl Selection brand line.
Pours clear very dark brown with an off-white head. Stable. Settles a a thin layer foam. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is cloyingly sweet. Chocolate, prunes and syrup. Brown sugar and lactose.
Soft carbonation and oily palate. Almost flat texture.
Flavor follows the nose. Very sweet, sticky and quite nauseating. Prunes, brown sugar and more sugar. Sweet aftertaste as well. I wonder if they have used hops at all in this beer. They say so on the label but that might be a sham.
They say on the label that this originally was a beer for Ladies. In that case I will count myself lucky.
