Solid, English-style IPA with the oaken feel of a Two Hearted or an Arrogant Bastard.

On-Tap poured into an unmarked Pint glass at the Brew-pub.
We were up in steamboat this weekend and were surprised to find a local brewery that we had yet to try. Our overall experience was good in spite of bland beer. One odd factoid about this place is that their tap list is all their own beer ... and then Bud Draft.
L: Amber, nearly red, with a half-finger of head. Lots of champagne carbonation. For a pretty standard looking IPA ... something here looks ... bland, can't put my finger on it, but it just looks boring.
S: Pretty weak nose, a light touch of hops drowing in a sea of water.
T: A lot of bitterness for what is probably a 50 or 60 IBU IPA. No balance, not much in the way of hops either. Touch of citrus in the finish.
F: Thin, and over-carbonated.
T: Take it or leave it. Even at $2 happy hour prices ... I think I'll leave it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
