Formerly known as Harvest Red Rye IPA
In celebration of the local hop harvest, we will incorporate whole cone fresh NYS grown hops to a malt bill that included Rye and Dark Crystal malts. This combination gives it a uniquely spicy flavor from the Rye malts balanced by the bitterness and citrus aroma from the fresh hops.

I bought a half-growler of this at Oliver's in Albany on 10/9/15. The information entered here is based on their description at the growler station.
A: Poured from the half-growler into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is clear, and very much amber in color - nearly ruby-red, in fact, with a small greyish head.
S: Not terribly strong in the nose. Rye is noted, along with some piney hops.
T: Follows the nose, with a good rye spice the dominant characteristic, doing battle with the earthy, piney hops. Finishes with a good lingering spicy bitterness.
M: Call it medium in heft, though there's a wee bit of thin-ness there. Carbonation is a bit too light, leading to a slightly slick presentation; it could use a bit of carbonation "bite."
O: Good stuff. Generally I haven't been blown away by their beers, but every now and again I come across one that I really, really like (e.g., Black Watch Black IPA). This is one of those. Definitely worth a try.
