From some old notes. Stopped by the pub when I was last at Lake George and had their sampler. Slight amber appearance wrapped in golden textures. Somewhat big head (for a sampler) but dissipated eventually. Decent malt aromas with some hints of fruit. Pretty good in general. Somewhat bready, malt balance with the taste; somewhat bitter. Good carbonation, allows it to be refreshing. Overall, pretty good.

Stopped by Lake George on the way back from a long road trip and found this quaint little pub/brewery. They had a California Steam, one of my favorite lager types, so I had to try it. It poured a clear goldenrod, with a thin white head. Aroma was faint, but earthy and sweet.
This is a very well-balanced lager and overall a successful Steam beer. There's a good amount of hops, but never too much, and it's balanced by a healthy caramel malt backbone. Mouthfeel is very clean. And quite frankly I could drink this all day. I wish this style was more common (no pun intended), because it usually delivers.
