Sold at the brew pub only.
Belgian Black Ale aged in Apple Jack Whiskey Oak Barrels with Lactobacillus added.
A- Deep, dark mahogany brown with red highlights around the glass. Nice crisp and bubbly kahki head that lasts and sticks around leaving a nice bit of lacing that holds on and clings to the glass.
S- Coffee, sour apples, little hints of toasted vanilla and chocolate. Picking up some charred wood, and the blend of apple and coffee is really unusual, but I'm really loving it!!!
T- Crisp and juicy apple flavored coffee with a hint of alcohol and toasted oak. Some nutty hazelnuts, cocoa, and some more sour green apples! Really cool and unusual!
M- The mouth puckers from the crisp and fruity apples. It's really cool how you can taste different apple types on the tongue. Chocolate, coffee and charred oak somehow blend seemlessly with the tart apples and abv.
O- I wish I could remember the ABV on this one. I wanna say in the 8-9% range by the way it's hitting my head. Very unique and creative brew from a local brewpub that keeps getting better and better all the time! I wish they would start bottling a few more of thier fantastic brews (Imperial Cream Ale 9%, Imperial IPA, Jack Daniels Barrel aged Scotch Ale). They are expanding as I write this, and the brewers creative juices are flowing!
