Svagdricka is a traditional Swedish fermented malt drink, sweetened with saccharine and coloured with caramel.
The colour is deep, deep brown (90 EBC), the liquid is clear. The brown airy head dissolves quickly into nothing.
The smell is sweet and clean. Some roasted malts. Smooth notes of yeast, wort, fresh dark bread and molasses.
The taste is saccharine-sweet with some roasted malts. It is quite light. Medium body. The aftertaste is sweet with notes of dark rye bread, molasses and hints of toffee. The short finish is creamy and sweet.
The carbonation is strong. Too strong, the sharp large bubbles are sharp in the mouth. The liquid is semismooth.
The over-carbonation hides quiet a lot of the flavours. Otherwise, this is a quite mild svagdricka.
