Picked this beer up after hearing about the man they call Chopper. Poured a nice looking golden color with no head or lace. Smell was very malty with some grain and earthy tones permeating as well. Taste was pretty good, it was a bit spicy with mroe earth notes coming through all around. It reminded me a bit of a strong pilsner, which I like. Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied...very crisp and refreshing, especially for a warm day. Although this is mildly strong beer, I could see myself drinking a six pack without too much difficulty. Final verdict is that this is a pretty decent beer for a hot summers day that I would consider getting again. That Chopper is a bamf and should be proud that such a brew takes on his name. Cheers

'chopper' read, if you aint seen the movie, is a notorious melbourne underworld crime figure who has confessed to offing a few people in his time. since he's been out of the pen hes written books, become an 'artist' with several paintings and had a line of clothes put out. he decided along with all this to release his own beer. and at the risk of having a hit put out on me, this beer is bad bad bad. considering theres no filler in it, this is what makes it bad. its a beer with no crap in it that still manages to taste like crap.
its strong in alcohol, as youd expect a hitman lager to be. for all americans its like al capone or bugsy seigel brewing his own beer. its a deep golden color with a rocky white head and a great fizzy factor,. has a fruity sort of smell in the nose, with some malt and the front palate is the same. the real bad thing is it finishes with a terrible raspy bitterness thats like a CUB beer. big minus there. the alcohol presence hits too hard for a 6% ABV. its too prevalent for a lager. another detraction from the overall standard.
chopper said he wanted to make this like melbourne bitter, and while i think MB is the best of CUB's shitty lagers, when youve got the best brewing conditions happeneing, chopper could have impressed me. he could have showed CUB how it should be done. alas this didnt. perhaps choppers better off going back to toe cutting (as long as they aint mine)
