Had this in Sint-Genesius-Rode, Belgium. Apparently it's brewed by Haacht NV, but still retains the name of the company that Haacht bought out in 1973: Brouwerij Excelsior.
Appearance: Cloudy, pale yellow with medium lacy head. Reminiscent of Hoegaarden and other typical witbiers in look.
Smell: Slight yeast and hay freshness. There are faint hints of coriander and citrus. Otherwise, an overall unassuming and unobtrusive smell.
Taste: Yeasts all the way, but slightly watered down. A bit of a zesty, lemon peel taste rears its head. Finishes dry with a sour aftertaste that's just a bit phenolic.
Mouthfeel: Slightly over-carbonated for the fact that it doesn't have much taste or consistency.
Overall: Light as a feather; carbonation flies by and disappears, almost leaving no taste except a slightly yeasty aftertaste. Like drinking beer-flavored Perrier.
