L- Mid-gold with moderate haze and no sediment, suggesting it's been part-filtered to leave just the prettier sludge-free element. Good 1cm dense ultra fine-bubble white head. Holds well and forms mega-lacing.
S- Mild coriander and a citrus aspect.
T- Citrus for sure plus a spicy coriander note. There's a balance of malty roundness and some bright hops that leave a bit of a dry-zing on my palate.
F- Considering the prominent spices and dry hops the body seems relatively lightweight in comparison. In fact it arguably is at 5.1%. It would be interesting to sample this amped up to say 6.3-6.8%.
O- It manages to compromise between Xmas (the spices), contemporary tastes in beer (dry hops) and households facing major cost-of-living pressures (5.1% = lower beer duty). I think the latter, that also feeds into a thinner body/feel, perhaps is a compromise too far. Perfectly drinkable, just nothing that special.
