I had this one at their sister tavern on Broadway. Served in a standard shaker, the beer is brown with amber highlights.
It has smoky roasted malts on the nose.
The smoke is not overriding the base beer which I think is the way to go. Slightly sweet, a hint of chocolate, roasted malts all under laid with smoke. Thankfully none of that band aid taste. A bit of cooked vegi sneaks in late and that keeps the score down a notch.
Mouth is decent; I would like a bit more heft and a bit less carbonation.
All-in-all, I enjoyed this stab that combines two things I like (porters and smoked stuff).
