Deep yellow color, slightly hazy, with a compact, white head of medium persistence.
It opens with a quite strong malty note, a light hint of raw grain, and finishes with a hint of pine and grass.
The same pattern is present on the palate, but the hop effect (grass and light resin) is more evident, though not as clear-cut or assertive.
The raw grain effect returns in the aftertaste, but it finishes appropriately before becoming too heavy and boring.
It could certainly have been more daring, but it remains a more than decent beer.

I assume a "hoppy lager" is similar to a pilsner ; )

Mega budget, can also looks pretty budget also. Standard German purity law ingredients with American Cascde hops.

Looks good in the glass, kind of musky and unfiltered. Aromas of citrus and grapefruit, and slightly dodgy musky malt.

Malt is very heavy and it's a big contrast to the rather light tropical fruitiness and citrus. This contrast rarely works and here it certainly doesn't. The malt is very heavy, like soil or a brown ale...and it creates a strange contrast with the tropical refreshing elements of the cascade hops. Mouth feel is quite thin and effervescent with a rather off skunked wierd aftertaste.

This doesn't taste like a German pilsner at all, it's like a dodgy cheap beer mixed with tropical hops. When Radeberger is only a tiny bit more expensive, there is really no reason to buy this...and omg surely they could have invested a bit of money to actually create some kind of design on the can? It looks like someone designed it in Microsoft Word. Word Pad even. I also bought their 7% version...I'm not looking forward ; )

Slightly hazy golden color with a thin thick head.
Aroma with notes of mild piney and herbal hops, malt sweetness and Lager yeast.
Flavor with notes of floral and herbal hops, pine, faint oranges and unfiltered Lager yeast. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light towards medium body with appropriate carbonation.
I liked this version of their Dortmunder with vivid floral and pine hop notes given the Cascade touch.
