I had this on tap at Hunger N Thirst, served chilled in a glass.
The color is medium amber with very light haze - I am told this is a mix of grappa, pinot and gin barrel aged beers which may explain. The head comes and goes, bead is fine. The smell is a mix of sweet with a light malt odor and subtle fruity hints with spice and mild alcohol odor. The feel is a roller coaster ride of moderately tart to slight sour with medium carbonation and mildly phenolic to bitter and dry with finish in the very dry warm space with mild tannin and spice.
The taste has a slight berry and mild lemony note with some hoppy herbal and fruity notes of wild yeast with slight hint of lemony lactic presence with a slight medicinal flavor with light tinge of sweetness and woody notes in the finish which is relatively dry for the style. Overall what a complex blend of barrel and wild yeast with the base presenting some interesting malt and hop flavors, it really is a beer to savor.
