On tap at Max's today.
The beer pours an ice tea color with essentially no head retention and lacing. The nose is unusual, especially for a zwickel bier. I get sort of a sour, malted vinegar aroma, along with sort of a light whiskey aroma. The flavor profile is every bit as unusual with light sour, a hint of honey, and some black tea. I don't get any sense of the whiskey on the palate. Mouthfeel is fairly light, with a slightly sour, very light honey finish. Alcohol is pretty much undetectable, which I guess is a good thing
Bad idea hofstetten... aging this beer in whiskey barrels did it no favor whatsoever.
