A-cloudy golden with a very thick and foamy white head poured in to a liter glass.

S-grainy and minty and a bit hoppy. Medium strength.

T-comes in with a flavor of grains and sweet grass. There's a faint flavor of pepper to it as well. Tastes a bit off for the style. Possibly a bit too aged? Decent strength. Matching after-taste.

M-creamy and crisp. Goes down easily

O-not the best example of this style. Has a certain sweetness to it that I didn't favor. Definitely drinkable but maybe not worth a try.

On-tap at The Cask Republic.

A: Crystal clear gold body beneath an inch of super-fine eggshell head that sticks around admirably. Beautiful lager.

S: Sweet and sour, with some rather surprising fruitiness (fig? strawberry?) on top of some faint toasty malt. Weird, and increasingly unpleasant as it warms.

T: Utterly bizarre, and yet strangely delightful. This tastes precisely like whole wheat toast topped generously with strawberry preserves. It's sweet, fruity, and candied up front, with the maltiness following on the back end - but then on the finish these heavier flavors fade away completely in favor of an extremely crisp dose of lager minerality. I don't know what to make of it in terms of its style, but it's delicious.

M: Medium bodied with plenty of creamy carbonation. Great.

O: This keg had been tapped for a while before I got mine, so there's a decent chance that at least some of the fruitiness was the result of incremental spoilage - the nose in particular had more than a touch of overripeness to it. Still, it was enjoyable overall.

Cheers!
