Bottle 0.33L.
Clear dark golden body with an average, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with fair lacing; high density of average-sized particles.
Moderate hoppy (herbal) and light-t0-moderate malty (grains) aroma.
Moderate bitter and light-to-moderate sweet flavour; average lasting bitterish finish.
Light to medium body with oily texture; average carbonation.

330ml bottle, with a label that seems to think that it's Belgian - FWIW, the Santa Claus imagery on one of the first truly summery days in Edmonton seems a bit disorienting.

This beer pours a faintly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with two fingers of thinly foamy off-white head, which leaves some decently spooky skeletal lace around the glass as it gradually slinks away.

It smells of grainy, soused cereal malt, simple syrup, and some forceful leafy and weedy hops. The taste is nice, level semi-sweet grainy malt, a slightly muddled, acerbic fruitiness, with a heavy debt to the booze that bore it, and still game leafy, earthy, and stoic noble hops.

The bubbles are crisp, persistent, and to be thus lauded, the body an agreeable middleweight, with enough cross-interference to disrupt any cloying bias or hop guilt. It finishes off-dry, a Big Box o' Bock first, as the hops and askew booze help shift this effort away from the overtly sweet, to a more neutral, drinkable experience.

As I work my way through this Austrian bag of tricks, I've come to expect a common, somewhat overbearing sweet booziness. Nice to finally traipse through the (so far) only exception that proves the rule.

330ml bottle poured into tulip 17/5/12

A clear golden copper with lots of tiny suspended particles upon closer inspection, average carbonation and a large short lived soapy head that leaves no lace

S honey, grass and sweet grains, rather malty with a little booze

T more booze and a little too sweet, just a hint of spice to go with what I smell

M hot and syrupy and its giving me heart burn

O leaning towards malt liquor and really nothing special going on here, pretty basic

Not bad but not good either, I wouldn't go looking for it just a little sweet and boozy

Lovely amber colour with about 3 cms of frothy white head leaves decent lacing after couple of minutes

Smells and tastes of bitter hops and honey and roast malt

The body is light to medium yet full and refreshing with good carbonation

Drinkability is very high
