Thanks Tim for the share. Wax dipped bomber into a snifter. The brew is a dark brown color with clarity around the edges and a decent cap that fades leaving spotty lace. Aroma is slightly roasted with a hint of mineral edge to it. The taste is surprisingly mild. Faint roasty and earthen notes with some mineral flavoring almost alkaline like this was aged on dirty pennies instead of in barrels. Speaking of barrels, this claims it was barrel aged, but no typical barrel flavors are present. Its a thin feeling brew with moderate carbonation. Its listed as 10% but drinks like its 4-5%. So I guess thats good about it? I appreciate the chance to try this but in all honesty, its a dud.

22oz bottle into a snifter
vintage 2015
A: Opaque black, 1+ fingers light tan head, decent retention, leaves a few patches of lacing. 4
S: Very roasty, tobacco and leather, a caramel like sugary sweetness. Not many barrel notes, some charred oak and vanilla. Very nice. 4.25
T: Lots of lactose like cream, roasty, some bitterness, subtle semi sweet cocoa, oak. Like the nose the barrel notes are subtle. Overall, the taste does not live up to the aroma, but still good. 4
M/D: Fuller body but not thick, carbonation on the higher end but not bad, ABV is very well masked and drinkability is good. 4
O: Good beer, but not great. Would like if more barrel notes were present, and if the lactose like cream character was more subdued. I enjoyed it though. 4.
