Got this the first time as a new selection..for me...over 20 years ago when visiting my parents beach house in South Carolina. I'm pretty sure this is Palmetto's flagship brew. Loved it then and it is still consistently great. Pours a nice amber/copper color with a decent head. Flavor has evidence of subtle malts with a nice touch of hops. Worth a try for sure!

A little different from the BA description. The label on the bottle is red with a silver silhouette of a Palmetto Palm. The .abv is now 6.20% vice 5,20%. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Bright, hazy orange color with a a good sized white head and bands of lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty (dry biscuity malt) with a little hops bitterness. Taste is primarily dry biscuity malt with a mild citrus hops presence. Mouthfeel is crisp and light with a little hops bite. This is a pretty average APA but is tasty enough and refreshing.

From the bottle, it pours amber with a clear amber with a small head (despite the bottle being a bit warm, as well). Hops in the nose and the mouth enjoys the light bite of the hops and malt. Enjoyable.

12 oz bottle, drank straight from it. Picked up a 6-pack while traveling through SC, love trying beers I normally are not available in VA.
Pretty hop forward pale ale, very good. I can easily drink a few of these.

Poured into a snifter.

3.0 A: Well hazed medium orange color. Didn't get much of a head to form.

2.75 S: Hops are primarily citrusy orange and piney. Secondarily earthy and grassy. Neutral malt backbone with caramel sweetness. Simple and unfortunately underwhelming.

2.75 T: Mild bitterness. Again orangy and piney hop flavors. Malts aren't quite clean as I'm picking up hints of vegetal flavor. Otherwise a touch biscuit with caramel flavor.

3.25 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lacking creaminess, but otherwise okay.

2.5 D: Don't really care for this much. It's boring at it's baseline and has a problem with vegetal flavor.
