look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Pours an opaque peach juice, deep gold with such intense carbonation pouring is difficult, producing a huge, chunky & foamy white, very long-lived head that leaves dime & nickle sized islands sitting on a thin surface cap, a heavy collar & lots of sticky clumpy lace. Aroma is heavy to blueberry, with bready wheat, fruity yeast, clove & a creamy sherbet-like sweetness with a hint of lemon. A faint note of coriander hangs in the background & far less smoke than expected. Taste is white bread, dough, wheat, less blueberry than in the nose accompanied by white fruits & clove, some coriander, citrus & thin smoke. Finishes peppery & slightly acidic, remaining so into the aftertaste. Aftertaste brings forth Belgian yeast-like flavors & more intense blueberry but is more bitter than is typical of the style. Fairly chalky as well. There is a phenolic hint throughout. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation, creamy but slightly slick on the tongue with a high carbonation level that delivers a prickly bite. Unusual Witbier. Fruity with low levels of smoke (a strange idea for the style) but the bitterness in the aftertaste is quite out of context with the style.

look: 3.75 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

12 oz bottle poured into a tall mug.

Pours a hazy light amber color with a massive, foamy white head that leaves patches of soapy lacing behind.

Aroma: blueberry pie, yeast and hops.

Flavor: Surprisingly strong hop character with more subtle blueberry notes. Mildly smoky, with the smoke and wheat building in the finish and aftertaste. Moderately bitter.

Feel: medium body with medium-high carbonation.

Overall - An unusual, interesting ale that is certainly worth trying.
