A: Poured from a bottle to a mug. Had a light brown color and a completely thin consistency. Almost no head or lacing to speak of.

S: A very faint aroma of malt and chocolate. Somewhat difficult to percieve.

T: Tasted heavily of malt up front and some chocolate in the finish. Not exactly the most complex of flavors, but not bad either.

M: A well-carbonated beer with a dry finish. Light- to medium-bodied.

D: This is one of those beers with some serious problems, but isn't totally undrinkable.

A: Very deep red amber color, decent head but doesnt retain well. Lighter than expected.

S: Slight malt aroma with hints of cocoa.

T: Very subtle chocolate taste with a sweet malt flavor.

M/D: Very crisp and easy to drink not very filling or robust.

AKA the Bocat per the bottle

A-pours an orange beer, mostly clear with bubbles rising to the top. An aggressive pour produces only one finger of a thin bubbly white head.

S-the nose is extremely light and hard to pick up anything. There is some of the chocolate they mention but it is very faint. Some light notes of toasted biscuit and grain lie in the back.

T-the taste is a little better. The chocolate is present up front but extremely faint. Everything is so light in the taste but some toasted biscuity malts come in towards the middle with a grainy back. Some sweet caramel lies underneath and the hops are present in the finish with a lightly assertive bitterness and touch of floral hops.

M-smooth and creamy with a medium body. It is slightly syrupy with just enough carbonation to hold a firm finish with just a touch of crispness

D-this is actually easy drinking, the flavors are pretty light but everything works together and it has a soft smooth texture on the palate making it quite inviting. Solid drink, nothing great but definitely a solid drink if it is there.

Bottle shared by Lunch, yet again.

Beer is copper with a little hazy, small head, decent retention, some lacing.

Aroma is mildly bitter, not a lot of chocolate though, just a nice lager malty sweetness.

Beer is medium in body, sweet, nice finish, mildly bitter, overall decent, nothing too special here though. I've had better chocolate bocks than this, more than one.

Bottle shared by Lunch. Thanks Paul.

The beer is copper orange hued with a quarter inch of white head. The beer shows some mild sediment, akin to a snow globe when gently shaken. The aroma offers some malt, lager scents, pepper, light roast. Chocolate emerges much more so in the flavor than the aroma. The flavor eclipses the aroma by quite a bit. Light bodied with moderately low carbonation. Overall, decent beer.
