I love zwickls but this wasn’t 100% for me. Was nice, smooth, low carbonation and everything, had a very nice unfiltered rawness to it, but it was lacking something in taste. Was rather hop-bitter, nothing wrong per se but simply wasn’t as interesting or exciting as some other zwickls I have had so far. Not bad though, still a good quality beer, even my wife appreciated it.

Poured from 500mL bottle into a tumbler. Best by 1/2/23.

Appearance: rich yellow hue with a light haze and a thick finger of frothy white foam that has some staying power. Maybe not as hazy as the average zwickl, but still, I like it.

Smell: lightly malty and yeasty, with a soft, subtle hopping. Nice, if a bit low-volume.

Taste: quite malty with a bit of yeast character and a light bitterness with perhaps a grassy, noble hop character. I think it’s balanced and quite lovely.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess. I like it!

Overall: this zwickl really works for me. I’m quite enjoying it!

(From notes

A - Hazy, light pale lemony yellow color, poured with a generous frothy white-head

S - Bit yeasty, touch of sourness/tartness, and very 'fresh' and appetizing. Little bit of hop bitterness

T - Minty hop flavor and a touch herbal, very muted but clean malt. Tightly packaged and fairly pleasant

M - Light, but not as light as other components might suggest Little clingy on the palate

D - Pretty high since this was a refreshing but not overly complex brew. Very solid here.

Overall, pretty nice take on the example especially of a harder to find style. Enjoyed the sample, and would check out again but wouldn't really break my back to find it again.
