.5L emptied into a pokal.
A: Pale gold with a 1-finger head which quickly disappears, leaving just the faintest ring. No lace whatsoever.
S: Very little in the way of distinguishable odors. I detect just a bit of hops and some malt, but overall I struggled to pick anything out.
M: Medium body with a surprisingly good amount of carbonation, given the lack of head and lace.
T: Taste makes up some ground for this beer, with a decent medley of hops and malt. I detected a nice herb-like middle portion as well. The aftertaste is slightly tannic, dry, but not quite crisp.
D: Nothing outstanding, especially given that this beer claims to have been around since 1708. I find it quite telling that the brewery which this beer hails from (Zwettl) omits it from their website. It is by no means a hateful beer, but I would struggle to provide a good excuse for buying it again. Middling at best.
