pours a very dark copper but translucent body with a fine beige head that shows not much retention but leaves nice lacing.
smell is dominantly from the roasted malts, coffee, but also some fruity notes, cherry, molasses as well
pretty clean - lager type, some roasted bitterness hand in hand with hop bitterness, dark chocolate, not much of a malt sweetness, alcohol is well hidden
pretty smooth for a lager, thin, some gentle fine carbonation, warming alcohol
A great beer from a small Austrian brewery. Quality is up there with the best. A great Schwarzbier.
