Poured into a pint glass from a bottle. Pours semicloudy orange with a small white head, a little sediment. Smells of sweet wheat and strong citrus. Tastes of sweet wheat, grassy and citrus hops. Beer is light bodied and heavily carbonated, but very easy drinking. Overall, an above average beer.

Great Lakes Sharpshooter.

Ahhhh yes. Good ole GLBC. One of my absolute favorite breweries though admittedly this beer is not a style I care for at all. Part three of my random new beer Kroger mix a six. Hoping for the best but not expecting much. But hey! Tonight has been one hell of a night for surprises in terms of good beer so you never know!.

Look - From the twelve ounce bottle hard poured into a pint glass. Pours the usual murky, nearly pledge dish soap looking yellow with a big ole bone white head that sticks and looks frothy and bubbly like your washing some dishes. Beer is quite murky. Carbonation is actually unreadable due to the murk. Head leaves immediate stick as it quickly..though somehow slowly trickles down the glass into a thick froth amongst the edges. Some sticky splotches are left here and there after the beer is gone.

Smell - You see I knew Great Lakes wouldn't let me down. What makes or breaks this style is what additional ingredients they use aside from the wheat. And I must say the wheat is obviously a key player as expected though the orange peel prevents that nasty corn flake esque ordeal that usually invades the nostrils.

Taste - Yeah pretty much if you read the smell category you'd know exactly what to expect me to say here. Big wheaty dosages with a good hit of pepper like spice on the forefront with the always welcomed orange peel to perfectlt balance things out and keep it from getting adjunct like with painfully bland cereal grains.

Feel - The feel on this brew is thicker than I had expected with a nice cold level of creamyness and a moderate to high amount of carbonation. Swallows extremely clean with a nice additional lemon like ordeal coming through in the throat.

Overall - I will never fall in love with a wheatale but this is probably the best one I have ever come across. Hoegaarden was the first craft beer I ever drank longgggg ago in my teen age years and this beer matches it if not does it better. The nostalgia is nice, but I do not allow it to effect my ratings. Tasty, clean, easy drinkint without the bland and chokingly off putting corny flakes from oh...let's say 312. Very solid beer, especially at the style and lower ABV. Especially good for converting your non craft friends.
