Yet another on-tap only, "pub evaluative being enjoyed at the GLBC. Served to me in a snifter glass, this beer draws a clear, dark brown color with a slightly tan, off-white head that's only 1/4 or so of an inch thick when first served to me. Settles quickly to a medium sized to thick ring lining the inside of the glass, and little bits of lacing. Strong aromas of blueberry along with a definite barnyard funk and some tart sour notes that are rounded out with some toasted caramel malt sweetness. I really like the nose on this one. Has a nice hint of toasted caramel malt sweetness that gives way to a nice green apple tart sour flavor with hints of musty, grassy funk notes and a good touch of blueberry ties it all together. A really nice combination of these flavors here. No discernible hop presence that my palate can detect. Has an initially fairly prickly, fairly crisp, yet also smooth, slightly acidic, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation with a clean, fairly dry finish. Another very good beer indeed from the fine folks at the GLBC, and an interesting and all around damn good take on this style. Worth a try for sure.
