Stopped by the brewpub after shopping at the West Side Market. This beer is yet another on-tap only "pub exclusive" beer from the fine folks at the GLBC. Served in a pint glass this beer draws a fairly cloudy/hazy medium copper color with a white head that's about alfalfa an inch thick when first served to me. Head eventually settles to a tmedium sized ring lining the inside of the glas with decent lacing. Aromas of some some bready malts along with a hint of rye and some earthy, citrus hop notes. Has a nice bready, slightly sweet, malt presence that gives way to a good hint of rye that's not overpowering and that's rounded out with a nice somewhat earthy and citrusy hope bitterness that balances things out nicely flavor wise. There also hints of cantaloupe. Has a fairly crisp, yet also smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. I think this would be a good gateway beer with rye for someone to drink who hasn't ever had a beer with rye in it before. Very enjoyable and refreshing in this hot summer weather. As a clean finish. Worth a try for sure.
