32oz growler filled at Heinen's in Willoughby, Ohio
Growler poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy glowing burnt orange with a fluffy off-white head that falls leaving nice retention and nice lacing. The aromas are obviously citrus forward. Tons of blood orange. Some lemon, malts and fresh grass in the mix. The flavors follow the nose perfectly. The orange and citrus shines once again. More blood orange and lemon along with some grapefruit in the finish. More fresh grass along with some fresh corn. Mild sweetness with a mild bitterness. Alcohol goes completely unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's very fluffy and smooth. Easy drinking stuff.
This is a solid "fruit pale ale". The citrus characteristics might come off as "artificial", but it still ultimately drinks like a beer. It's nothing too crazy, but it's enjoyable and refreshing.
