Beer brewed for the Anchor Bar
Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a very hazy murky orange color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is sweeter with nice tropical fruit smells mixed with aromas of tangerine and grapefruit. Along with these aromas comes notes of a bready smell mixed with some smells of yeast and a touch of herbal hop. Overall, very inviting.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice sweeter tangerine and tropical fruit flavor mixed with a breadiness and some flavors of a grapefruit hop. As the taste advances the sweetness remains rather strong, with some tastes of herbal and earthy hop coming into the taste. Toward the end a bit of raw hop joins in and with a touch of lemon, one is left with a pleasant fruity, but not overly sweet, and nicely hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew was thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is normal. For the style and the tastes, the feel was nice, creating a rather flavorful media to well appreciate the nice flavors.
Overall – A rather nice and flavorful IPA. Quite tasty.
