Nicely bitter, smells lovely as well. Poured a big head that didn't reduce completely, which was a nice detail, for me. This does not taste like a beer with 9.0% ABV, so I'm guessing that wonderful, strong hops flavor is covering the alcohol. Greatly enjoyed this- will look for it next year for sure!

Pours a beautiful amber burnt orange. A white sticky head that stays on the glass makes the beer look inviting.

Smell is sweet caramel with rounded out hops.

Taste is good, however disappointing. To me it does not live up to the standards of flavor that Great Lakes normally has. This is good for an IPA, but the taste is somewhat flat on the back end. You get the hops on the back of the tongue, but the malt misses the mark to round it out.

Feel is a bit thin.

Overall a good beer, but disappointing for a Double IPA at 9%. I would spend my money on Lake Erie Monster Imperial IPA instead.

Draught @ Headkeeper: This one pours a clear, golden/amber color. It had an off-white head that left lots of lacing. Good nose. Hops, and a good mix of them. Pine, earthy, citrus and tropical. The taste is very good. Somewhat bitter, no residual sweetness. A good malt body. Flavors of Pine, citrus, tropical and earthy hops. Nice.

Pour reveals a beautiful burnt copper color, a smidge hazy, and a tan head. Some citrus on the nose, but LOADS of pine, and a heaping helping of caramalt.

The citrus is up front on the taste, but the finish is all about the resiny pine and caramalt flavors. This s is an old-school DIPA, and I really enjoy it.

A-A very nice amber color with a very slight head and lacing.
A-Aroma had very little hop presence.
T-The taste follows the nose, with a more malty flavor.
M-A medium bodied DIPA with decent carbonation.
O-Somewhat disappointing as DIPA is my favorite beer style.
