Vanilla Stout

Having this beer on tap at the brewpub. This peer draws a very dark brown color with an off-white, slightly tan had that’s about 1/2 Inch thick when first drawn and served. Head quickly settles to a very thick foam ring along with a nice big cluster swirl of surface foam. Aromas of Roasted, slightly bready malts with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Also a bit of floral, earthy hops. The flavor profile is extremely similar, with the aforementioned roasted malts with some notes of chocolate and vanilla. There may also be a slight tent of coffee, and all of this is rounded out with the aforementioned floral and earthy hop notes that give just the right amount of bitterness. Not the most complex flavor profile, but that is OK, as that works just fine here. A very well balanced flavor profile too. Has a smooth, slightly crispy, frothy, medium bodied mouth feel with light to moderate carbonation. Has a very clean finish and the flavors linger very nicely on my palate for the aftertaste. Another very enjoyable beer from the fine folks at the GLBC.
