Ohio City Extra Pale Ale

Well, this is the first hazy American pale ale I’ve ever had. It is not advertised as such by the brewery, but that is certainly indeed what this is. Another “pub exclusive”. Having this beer on-tap at the brewpub. Served in a pint glass, this beer draws a hazy, light to medium golden color with a white head thats about 1/2 inch thick when first drawn and served. Head settles to a fairly thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with some good lacing. Aromas of some bready malts and some earthy and citrus hops. A very similar flavor profile with the aforementioned bready malts and the earthy and citrus hops. A pretty good flavor profile overall. Has a smooth, slightly to somewhat gritty, medium body mouth filled with moderate carbonation. Not as nearly clean and crisp of a mouthfeel as I like and then I usually find in American pale ales. Not a bad beer, but I probably will not have ordered this had known it was a hazy pale ale, as I’ve never come across such a thing before.

I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight whilst in Cleveland visiting the Rock and Roll HOF with my homie from FLO-Rida. It was a great crispy ESB style beer with citrus fruit highlights. Would be excellent for sessioning.
