Pours a dark brown color with a 1/2F tan head and very light lacing.

Smells of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate.

Tastes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel and a bit of peanut with a slightly bitter boozy very warm finish.

Medium heavy body with very light carbonation. Lush, syrupy mouthfeel.

This is an excellent powerful sipper. If it had more reviewers it would certainly rank higher than its 82000 th place score here. (Are there even 82K imperial stouts in BA world? Got to be the software dividing by a near zero number)

Enjoyed at the brewery on our annual trip to Cleveland, Jan, 2025!

Beautiful in the glass! Obsidian black with dark tan head that dissipated quickly but left a nice ring around the edge as we sipped it down.

Aroma is deep rich molasses, bourbon, and raisin.

The taste is amazing! Rich mocha sweetness, bourbon barrel, and so smooth in the mouth. Watch out though, at 11.5, it'll sneak up and bite you!

Having this beer on-tap served in a sniffer glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, practically black color with a tan that is about half an inch thick when first drawn and served. The head settles eventually to a thick ring lining inside of the glass with decent lacing. Aroma, lots of roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee, notes, a bit of booze, and a bit of an earthy hop presence. The taste is pretty much the same, with the aforementioned heavily roasted malts, some chocolate and coffee, and a slightly earthy hop presence. There’s also an almost peanut butter fudge like quality that gives some additional sweetness. Has a thick, slightly syrupy, slightly oily, full body mouth feel with light to moderate carbonation. All of the flavors linger very nicely on my palate for a long time after each sip. Another very excellent beer from the fine folks at the GLBC!
