12oz can stamped MAY 12 26 poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 4.8% ABV. The beer pours very dark brown with light brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. Slight lacing. The aroma is mild with charred malt and faint coffee & chocolate. The taste is more bittersweet roasted malt with mild bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good dry stout.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a dark brown with a one finger height head of tan colored foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a moderate level of foamy spiderweb lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a toasted and roasted bready smell mixed with notes of oat and some coffee. Along with these aromas comes hints of vanilla and a little bit of char and smoke.
Taste – The taste begins with a deep roasted malt flavor mixed with a decent showing of coffee and some hints of dark chocolate. At the same time there is a little bit of nut and earth that add to the coffee bitterness, with just a hint of vanilla and caramel adding a touch of sweet to balance. As the taste advances it takes on more oat and malt, while leaving some of the light sweetness and some of the bitter coffee behind, taking the taste to its end and leaving one with a moderately coffee flavored and nicely toasted taste to linger.
Mouthfeel – The body is a bit somewhat crisp, yet sorta chewy, all while having a moderate to lower carbonation level.
Overall – A pretty nice dry Irish stout, with a good showing of roast and coffee, all while at a more meager 4.8 % abv.

A - Towering mocha cap never leaves, excellent lacing. Dark brown colored background hides the view.

T - Start up is nice roasted malts, earthy hop thread, some cocoa, and touch of char again
M - Lite on the palate, excellent texture, dry finish with a nice espresso linger
O - A true delight, flavorful, excellent texture, and a beauty to view

Pours black with a hint of red (mahogany). Tan, brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate (slight). Taste is roasty malt with hints of chocolate and coffee. Some bitterness, a little tongue sharpness. A very good seasonal. Solid 4's across the board. Not a Guinness but I don't think Great Lakes was trying to reproduce a Guinness clone.

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is very dark brown, head is light tan with fine bubbles that presents one finger thick, head dissipates to thin top with thicker ring along the glass sides.
Smell is light roast, light cocoa, some smoke, earth and very light herbal notes.
Taste is similar with light roast, some smoke and light acridness, hints of cocoa, earth and touch of herbal notes.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, light/moderate sweetness, some bitterness some acidity.
Overall solid Irish stout not quite so dry but flavor profile is on point for the style..
