Drank this about 2 week ago at the GLBC. This is another, new on-tap only "pub exclusive" that has never been brewed now for a few years until coming back on-tap recently. This beer is a nice copper/amber color with a white head 1 inch thick when served to me, settles to a ring lining the inside of the glass with some lacing, but not much. Aromas of sweet caramel maltiness and not really much else. Has a nice, slightly roasted, bready caramel malt flavor followed by a nice hop profile to balance it out. The hops came out a lot more after I let my beer sit and warm up for awhile. Good, but not great flavors. Has a light to medium bodied, crisp moughtfeel with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink as this is intended to be a session beer. Not a bad beer at all, but not up to par with the level of excellence I have tome to expect from Great Lakes.

From notes at the bar: Rich malty flavors derived from kettle caramelization with hints of roasted malt.

Review from notes taken at the brewery while I tasted this beer earlier today. Poured into a clean, clear pint glass. This is a pub exclusive.

A Rather basic looking red/brown translucent body with very little head. 3.0

S Little smell really. I needed repeated sniffs to get some very faint medium roast malt. 2.5

T Medium roast "red ale" taste and a little more sweetness than I expected. This beer is true to the style but rather forgettable. 3.0

M Too thin for my taste and my experience with better Scottish Ales (like Oskar Blues). 2.0

D Just fine but then again I would probably not seek it out again. 3.5

On tap in the downstairs pub.

I was excited to try this, as I dig a lot of the malt profiles Great Lakes incorporates into their beers.

White head and copper, clearly filtered, body.

Smell is malt. No real identifiable toast or roast, just sweet caramel malt.

Taste is disappointing to me. I'm more of a wee heavy guy than a 60 shilling, but this isn't even a 6 shilling to me. Wow, there's just a weird absence of flavor. Bready malt, but just a light taste. I know it's a session beer, but I expected more taste.

Nice carb but no body.

I'll give it a 3.5 for drinkability - it went down smooth and easy, but without a lot of enjoyment. Just didn't do it for me.
