On tap at Bobcat brewpub. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a black colored slim foamy/ off white head that dissipated within a good half minute. Minimal lacing. The smell had spicy rye over some normal bitter piney-ness. Smooth to delicate chocolate malts coming in on the background. The taste was moderately spicy with a slight sweet underscore of rye malts. Semi-sweet aftertaste. Wet spicy finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Semi-sessionable for a black rye IPA. I don’t mind it, I think I get it. Overall, I see what Bobcat is throwin’ down on this one and honestly, I think it’s solid and I would have again.
