On tap at the brewpub. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a glossy burnt red/amber color with a thin one finger-ed white to off white foamy head. Lacing is few and far between. The smell started off with some rich maple sweet malts up front and then a super light nutty to slightly caramel backbone. The taste was there for the style, yeah, Irish Red ale, I can see it. Malty sweet with a sly wet malty aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation rides light and underneath. Overall, damn nice Irish red ale for the style, would be a good food beer.
