Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a black color with a thin white foamy head that dies off immediately. Left no lacing. The aroma had some roasty coffee and subtle cocoa powder. Light vanilla tones underneath. The flavor yields to the roastiness first. Blended aftertaste of the coffee and cocoa. Subtle roasty finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Roastiness is there but keeps a good feel on my tongue. Overall, good porter worthy of coming back to.

Off the tap this beer displayed a deep maple/oak color with an eggshell white head. Good lacing, good retention of the ring. Aromas of toasted malt and maple sugar. The taste is dominated by a very forward maple syrup character. Sweet! Light and easy to drink for a porter yet I suspect the sugar content is used to hide the higher ALC%. Drinkable but at little one dimensional and not for those who do not like a sweet beer. Personally, I would utilize its unique high ALC %, sweetness and medium bodied combination to get my beautiful girlfriend tipsy...

Poured a deep mahogany hue with a one finger creamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a solid toasted malt with a gentle maple element.

The taste consisted of a toasted biscuity grain with a sweet and silky smooth maple sugar.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness.

Overall a tasty and highly drinkable porter.
