Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a black color with a thin white foamy head that dies off fairly quick. Light rings of lace try to stick to the glass. The aroma had some roasty coffee to chocolate malty notes flowing on into a bready mixture. The flavor blends the lager yeasty sweet breadiness to the coffee and chocolate. Flows nicely into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV feels appropriate. Good expected smoothness. Overall, good schwarzbier that I could have again.

Poured a deep brown color like wood stain. Tan head quickly faded to a thin ring. Aroma of coffee with lots of cream and sugar. Very good mouthful, albeit a little confusing. Light carbonation, but a robust body. Very much a German style. Smooth, roasted malt, subtle hops, well balanced, refreshing. An excellent example of the Schwartzbier style flavors. If it had more body and better appearance this could be classic.

A-Deep black with a thin tan ring.

S-Chocolate malt a bit of roast and a bit of spicy hops. All light but present.

T-Malty sweet without overly so. Caramel, bitter dark chocolate and some roasty components. A sneaky hit from the spicey hops.

M-Medium-light body that ends quite crisp and dry.

D-Flavourful throughout this is the kind of lager I can get behind. Easy drinking and low ABV make this one a winner.
