Pours a very dark brown color with a thin off-white head. Mild collar as it sits in my glass. The nose immediately brings out the "On Wood" portion of the name. Good oaky notes to go along with some slight roast, a bit of chocolate, and a moderate amount of yeasty character. The flavor pushes a bit too heavily into the oak direction, covering up the base beer. Body is medium with a good slightly-dry finish. Overall, a pretty nice brew that I was glad to try.
