A medium body lager beer with a color of reddish orange. The sweet maltiness dominates slightly over a clean hop bitterness. The malt character is a light-toasted caramel with a bread or biscuit-like flavor. Hop aroma and flavor is low but notable.

Paired this with their Shepherds pie - and it was perfect. Good example of a marzen though not mind blowing. Will have again.

Bobcat Oktoberfest pours a dark gold with an orange hue and thin head.
Sweet, grainy malt make good on the nose with a fruity touch. A fruity touch, you ask? Well, no better way to describe it on my part.
There's a hop presence that balances out the sweetness of the malt. You won't be overwhelmed by such sweetness.
The mouthfeel is full of lingering hops and sweet malt. Not too harsh.
A decent example. I can't say it's the best though.

Drained a pint of this ($4.00) on 02APR11 while laxing at the Bobcat with Alewife.
This Märzen was a clear, medium-deep copper color. Carbo was steady, and the head was beige, creamy and fine, lasting fairly well. Good lace was clinging to the glass in an attractive manner. The aroma has the typical bready, toasty lean to it; just what you'd want in a Märzen. Though there was a slight prickle present, it was mostly smooth, and medium-bodied.
Flavor? It had a healthy dose of toasty malts, adding a pleasant level of semi-sweetness. A tad bready as well, light caramel comes into play. Floral hops are a finishing presence, though just to add some balance to things without playing 1st fiddle. A flavorful and well-crafted bier from Braumeister Mark! Prosit!!
