My father received this and several other beers as a gift from a former student who had recently returned from a trip to Germany. We split the bottle.
Nice clean looking beer. Fairly thick head with good lacing. Smell is crisp and hoppy. Taste is also very fresh, with citrus notes coming through.
All in all, a satisfying warm-weather pilsner.

Bottle from Maruhn. Lots of pils to choose from, should have skipped this none. Nothing"spezial" here, mouth feel is watery, taste is pleasant but weak, and aroma is faint (and sightly musty). Next!

Picked this up at Maruhn GetrankeMarkt, a great beer store outside of Darmstadt. Clear straw yellow pour with nice fluffy white two finger head with decent retention and lacing. Nice crisp, fresh, hop nose with a touch of grass and metal. The fresh hops come through in the taste as well. I'm also getting some herbal grassiness and a bit of that mineral metalic taste that I love in German Pils. The finish is crisp, dry and bitter, just like a German Pils should be. The bitterness makes this extremely drinkable for me. Nothing better than a nice bitter Pils. I'll definitely be picking up more of these next time!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
