Erfurter Brauhaus

This is an excellent place, basically a restraunt and beerhall, serving only their own beers. They regularly do a Schwarzbier and a Pilsner, and have a seasonal as well, so they claim. When I was there in March it was a Hefeweisen, so go figure, but it may well change. All the beers were good, but the Schwarz in particular was excellent, dark with fruity and malty characteristics tumbling around.

The restraint aspect of it is excellent, with friendly service at a sit down bar, and lots of very good food. I can't recommend this place enough in Erfurt to any who love beer. This is surely one of the best dinner options in the town, and the staff are friendly.

One final note: they didn't appear to speak English, and probably didn't have English menus (I didn't ask) but I would guess between all of the staff they could summon up enough up enough English to help you order and find a beer.
