Pretty straightforward German beer.
I don't know why it says "retired" as I've seen it both here in Israel and on a trip to Thuringen where it's made...
Not the best, but nice value for money.

This beer is still available in Holland!!! Aldi has it in stock...
I have this beer for over more than a year in my beerfridge. The can tells me best before september the 7th 2010. Let's try it anyway.
Poured in my Struise glas the beer gets an enourmous big five finger head! That head disappears after a short while but nice to see such a big head. Some carbonation but not spectacular.
Pretty good smell, citrus notes. Also a normal premium pilsener taste, nothing fancy, just OK.

Yellow color, tending to green. White foam, decent, creamy.
In the smell a good maltiness, a decent hop, with grassy notes. Nothing exceptional, but decent.
In the taste the bitterness of the hop prevails, but the maltiness is still present.
Maybe some loss in the hopping in the aftertaste, but, overall, more than decent beer.
