Saalfelder Bock has a thick, soapy, white head and a clear, golden appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of some white bread crust. The flavor is of rich, sweet barley and grassy hop bitterness. The body is medium, and Saalfelder Bock finishes dry.

A crystal clear, golden/yellow beer with a thin head.
Smell is quite clean, with a smooth maltiness and some sulfuric notes, more like a German pilsener.
Taste is just like the smell, this is a German pilsener to me. There is the obvious (green) malt and bitterness, but a Helles Bock should be more full-bodied and have some sweetness and light caramalt taste. Not a bad beer, but out of style.
