A: Pours golden with a somewhat uneven white large head that sinks quickly, leaving some lacings.

S: Grainy and malty, sweet and a bit "caramelly". Light roasted malt. A bready smell, just as it should be. Faint dark dried fruits and lemons.

T: Bready, roasted sweet malt. Bitter hops held back. Faint lemon.

M: Dry bitter aftertaste that lingers for some time. Body is medium as well as carbonation.

D: This beer doesn't offend anyone - it goes down so smoothly. But the style is a bit to mellow for my taste.

A gift coutesy of my flatmate's father, who brought this beer from Greifswald, North-Eastern Germany. I was told that Schwerin is the capital of the region. BB 24/09/2007, served chilled in a weizen glass.

A: golden hue, coming with a thick white puffy froth with moderate retention; lively carbonation, mixed of slowly-ascending micro-fizz and rocketing large bubbles.
S: sticky grainy, richly cookie, as well as corn-ish nose of malts along with a strong lemony fruitiness and some grassy hints of hops; a closer sniff reveals some bready+peanutty malts hidden below the surface. Slightly cloy on the balance, but the sour edge consistently remains on the side.
T: juicy as well as bready chunky malts prevail upfront, added with a touch of lemony fruits; as the maltiness fades, it's replaced by an intensifying hop bitterness as well as raw-nutty (with slightly toasted nut-shells) bitter edge that hover in the aftertaste. The finishing bitterness is apparently more pronounced than other samples of Dortmunder I've tried; a plus, to me.
M&D: quite clean on the texture and not overly fizzy, meanwhile the body does not quite weigh up to the abv. and appears a bit thin. Overall, an easy-drinking malty Dortmunder this is. Many thanks go to my flatmate's father for taking all the troubles hand-carrying this beer over to London!
