500ml bottle, served chilled in a straight sided pint glass
Pours with a rich lemony yellow body, lots of little bubbles. Tight white head forms about an inch and a half thick settling down to about an inch. Patchy globs of white lacing up and down the glass
Smell, fresh grassy hops, tiny little bit of skunky aroma floating around. Bready malt, little bit of sweetness
Taste, crisp saaz hops. Flowery hops, freshly cut grass, little bit of biscuity crispness on the finish
A solid pilsner, very drinkable

500 ml bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie, Prague. Label info: Herold Bohemian Golden Lager, Svetlý Lezák, 12 degrees plato, Pilsenerbier, ABV 5.1%. Golden colour, large head that doesnt last long, little lacing. Lovely hoppy aroma, flowers (incl. heather flowers), honey and a hint of oak. Flavour is hoppy bitterness from start to finish, long bitter aftertaste. Moderate carbonation. A good pilsener, but not quite as good as Svijansky Rytír Bitter.

Lite amber in color with a nice carbonation level. Very nice malty aroma with some noble hop aroma in the backround. Good malty flavor-a lingering sweetness balanced in the end with some hop bitterness. Body has some meat to it unlike a lot of other pils I have tried. Overall a damn respectable beer-bought it not knowing a thing about it and was very pleasantly suprised-and $5.99 a sixer helps too!!!

It pours a clear gold with a lost of carbonation rising up as it sits and a small fluffy head. The aroma has some lightly sweet grain and not much else. It is a little grainy in feel and is sweet, but then it finishes with a crisp, clean spicy bitterness.

Purchased this and a bunch of others at Pivni Galeri, the best beer store I've found in Prague. Pours a rich golden color, a very pretty pilsner. Head is average, but still longer lasting then a typical pilsner (Pilsner Urquell, Budvar, etc.) Taste is VERY good, hoppy and sweet, one of the most flavorful pilsners I've had. Overall, highly recommended!

True to its style the color is a bright gold, the head ample and white, the lace a delicate film on the glass. The nose herbal, flowery a really smooth tasting beer with just a mild but apropos hop spicy bite. The body feels medium to light on the palate, smooth and refreshing, it carries the day. It starts with a malt sweetness, blends in the middle and a truly delicious hop taste filters through at the finish. So I can give credit where credit is do one of the few Pilsners, I consider better than Pilsner Urquell, and it ranks in my top ten Pilsners category.

Gold/amber colour, honeyish malts with a grassy bitter, slightly pungent hops finish. Nice satisfying bitterness. Although i quite liked it, i had slightly higher hopes for this one. Not bad, but somehow i expected a bit more. Would love to try closer to the source.... on tap if possible.

Bottle labelled as "Herold Traditional Premium Bohemian Lager" -- think this is the same as the Herold Svelte....
Light gold with a full white head. Light spicy Earthy Saaz Hop aroma. Nice balance-- Soft maltiness and moderate bitterness with the traditional spicy Saaz character. Medium bodied and creamy.
Easy drinking !
