On-draught at a bar in Prague in 2011. Reviewed from notes. Sometimes called "semidark" in English.
APPEARANCE: 2 fingers of lovely soft creamy head, very thick and retaining decently. Lacing abound as it recedes. Colour is a transparent dark amber-copper.
AROMA: Nuts, caramel, herbal hops. An enjoyable aroma of mild intensity.
TASTE: Hints of nuts. Amber malt. Light caramel/caramalt. Complex yet well balanced. Well built for a sort of European amber lager.
TEXTURE: Smooth. Wet. Complements the straightforward flavour profile nicely.
OVERALL: An easy drinking unpretentious Czech lager that's well priced. I could down many in a sitting. Very tasty.
