This came in a half liter bottle, with freshness dating. This is the first time I've ever seen a German beer with freshness dating.
Mayer's Osterbier pours quite nicely with ample amounts of light white head. The head presentation shrinks, but lasts all the way through my sample. The color is amber, and cleanly filtered.
I detect metallic fragrances with hints of herbal aromas.
The cereal grain taste hits right up front, with hints of bitter grapefruit and green bean like vegetable.
This is a good refreshing beer, decent for session drinking. Especially with the low amount of ABV. It is a little bitter, which may make it less drinkable than a sweeter Maerzen, but not too bad.

This is supposedly the same as their Pilsner, but brewed with Munich malt.
Before reading this on the website, I was a little confused by the style... there's a pleasant maltyness, with wack of hops! It almost seems closer to a keller bier than a bohemian pilsner.
A: Clear, light caramel. Pours a nice white head that leaves a nice lace, but there's not much retention.
S: Sweet caramel with a nice hop aroma (grassy & slightly floral). A hint of sulfur.
T: Plenty of hop flavour (grassy, floral & clean) with a little toffee. Great flavour (very impressive for its weight). Nicely balanced, with a crisp finish. (Score's between 4 and 4.5).
M: Light to moderate body is very smooth. Carbonation is on the low side of moderate.
D: Awesome.
Happy Easter!
