L: Deep hazy brown/amber.
S: Black tea is prominent. Roasted malt. Hint of spice and smoke. Notes of caramel and raisins/dates.
T: First sip hits like southern sweet tea. Tea hits you first, followed by roasted malt and sweetness (dark sugar/caramel). Smoke takes a subdued character with chocolate and dark fruit. Slight bitterness in the finish, very much like a cup of tea.
F: Thick, chewy, heavy, lightly carbonated. It is creamy as hell for not having lactose in there (that I know of).
O: This is super interesting, and absolutely one of the most unique beers I've ever had. This is worth checking out for sure.

Taste: roasted smoked malt, spiced herbal black tea notes, slight sweet malt, smooth finish. Same with the nose. Very dark brown hue, mostly clear, tan head with broken ring of lace. Medium body. Nice combo of flavors. 24 IBUs

-Scottish-style brewed with black tea. can to duvel glass.
A: Reddish Dr. Pepper coloring exit from the bottle sits a dark plum like in the vessel. Dark, khaki head is slight, a bit bready in texture turning to a slight creamy froth covering. I really like the covering here.
S: Sweet dark tea along with dark grapes stand out on the opening nose. Sweet toasted caramel bread, lightly dry and spicy with raisins with hints of dry brush and lightly smoked peat moss. Nice moderate level is balanced well to give the individual characteristics a chance to be exposed. Smokey roast and peat moss along with some rich chocolate malts ends things nicely. Dry and earthy.
T: The flavor was rich and earthy tea and and a light smokey roast. Rich chocolate gives this a rich first impression along with sweet dark toasted earthy tones of burnt caramel sweetness and toffee. Some cola and raisins with hints of honey tea, and belgian candy sugar adds sweetness to the earthy tea finish. Everything flows so smoothly here, is very pronounced, balanced, and earthy, Easy 4.0 here.
M: Light syrupy texture and depth has a silky feel. Just the right amount of carbonation that turns lush on the hold and very smooth.
O: Earthy tea is fresh, lightly bitter and wet in nature on the tongue with a roasty smoky glow on the inner cheeks. Strong first impression, and a very wide spectrum of flavors that balance well with each other. Scottish style of sweet caramel, raisins, with warm and spicy elements mesh well together with a fresh black tea. Strong flavor, great drink ability as well combination of flavor. Believe this is a home brew recipe? cheers.

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a12 oz. can. Has a cola color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of dark malts, some tea. Taste is dark malts, alcohol, some smoke, a bit of tea in the background. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

12 oz can poured into a pint glass where the clear dark reddish brown body was nearly opaque. The beige head is durable and leaves some lacing on the glass.
Aroma: dark roasted grains with hints of black tea, spicy hops, light smoke and faint dates.
Flavor: dark roasted grains dominate with the black tea emerging in the finish and aftertaste. A touch of raisins up front. Mildly bitter overall with light smoke.
Feel: smooth, medium-full body with soft but lively carbonation.
Overall: exceptional.

Poured into a small chalice: color is dark brown, solid, amber edges; head is light brown with fine bubbles and thin head after presenting about 1/2 inch thick.
Smell is on the mild side at first with just caramel, toffee, and toast, maybe some herbal hop notes.
Taste is moderate sweetness with caramel, herbal notes, smoke is subtle and i get more herbal tea like notes. Some booziness in some character
Mouthfeel is moderately sweet, mild carbonation, and dry finish - definite dryness from the tea.
Overall a good beer with some unique notes, though limited in the fruity or smoky like qualities of some in the style.

This beer pours dark and smooth into the glass with little head. The scotch taste is warm and prevalent, though mostly on the back of the tongue: this beer leads with a deep, natural flavor that echoes the Earl Grey tea added to it. For a scotch ale, it is quite smooth.

Really impressed by this. The only other example of this style I have had is Old Chub. Liked that a lot, but this is considerably better.
L: Really fun art on the box/cans of a surprised lion enjoying a lit pipe and a cup of hot tea. Black body is very dark, like a stout or porter, but light does penetrate the edges just enough that it is noticeable without holding the glass up to a light source. Head is a lovely cashew color and demonstrates exceptional retention.
S: Malt malt malt. Pretzel, molasses, caramel, dried dark fruits (i.e. raisins, prunes, apricot), lemon, and granny smith apple at the tail end. Nice sour finish. Totally unexpected. Didn't notice any tea.
T: Ok, the tea does make a little cameo. And it is definitely black. Almost completely buried in the rich roasty malt though. First is whole wheat bread, then milk chocolate, roast coffee, toffee, prune, english breakfast tea, and some herbal character and and lemon on the finish. The smoky roast flavor dominates throughout.
F: Very smooth for a scotch ale. Nice creamy texture without being too sweet.
O: This is definitely my cup of tea.
